Hi,
I usually am able to access update.microsoft.com to obtain updates. This
morning, I received the code above when the program looked like it was trying
to do the Genuine Advantage authentication.
The error code said 8009200D was a CRYPT_E_BAD_MSG, Not a cryptographic
message, or incorrectly formatted.
I'm not sure what that is supposed to indicate.
Hopefully someone can help out.
Thanks in advance.

Please state your full Windows version (e.g., WinXP SP3; Vista x64 SP1;
Vista SP2 <God forbid>) when posting to this newsgroup.

Can you Validate by pressing the VALIDATE WINDOWS button here? =>

Not a cryptographic message or the cryptographic message is not formatted
correctly

Try registering the following:

Click Start, select Run and type (pressing enter after each one and wait for
the success message):

regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 mssip32.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll

Reboot and try Windows Update site again.
