"windows update error" (ox8007007f),

every time i try to go to "windows update", i receive
this error. i just loaded windows xp but have not
registered. i've never had this problem with any other OS
before, any help will be greatly appreciated.
I'm just about ready to go back to using windows 2000
pro. because I've had so much trouble with xp. thank you

Well, the error is ERROR_PROC_NOT_FOUND, which makes it sound like you've
got a dll hell problem on your computer. Have you upgraded to Windows XP
SP1?

I've forwarded your message to our application support team, and hopefully
they have some up to date information that I can pass back.

Lou, here's something to try. This response is from our application support
team:

"Let's have the customer reinstall WSH 5.6 on the machine to see if this
will resolve the problem. You can download from

Please select the Windows 2000 version."
