I have dowloaded this u/d several times, but the alert icon (yellow warning
shield with "!") on the taskbar does not disappear, even after re-start of my
PC.
The Microsoft Update homepage shows that the following update is ready to
install : "Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2
(KB954430)", yet after a review of "Update History" and what appears to be a
successful install the yellow warning icon does not disappear from the task
bar.
I have also tried downloading this u/p with a disabled Norton360 and no
protections yet the yellow icon remains and subsequent visits to the
Microsoft Update homepage will still show that this particular u/d is "ready
to install" indicating that it really has not installed, perhaps. Downloading
it again will, again, show that it installs successfully! Go figure...
I give up! What gives with this situation?
How can I remove the alert icon (yellow shield) from the taskbar constantly
reminding me that "Updates are ready for your computer"???
I'm on Windows XP V7.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!
