System : Windows XP SP.2 , McAfee security suite .
Problem : Attempting update of .NET Framework 3.5 service pack 1 and .NET
Framework 3.5 family update for versions 2.0 to 3.5 (KB951847)x86
Update fails with error : ox8oo7o643 .
Please advise .

You could search for the error via Google. But first, replace all of the
lowercase 'o' characters with '0'.

You receive error code 0x80070643 oя error code 0x643 when you use the
Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web sites to install updates

FYI

After 12 April 2010, XP SP3 your computer will NOT be offered ANY critical
security updates nor will Windows Update website be available until & unless
you get XP SP3 installed.

When you try to install an update for the .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0,
or 3.5, you may receive Windows Update error code "0x643" or Windows
Installer error code "1603"
