Are the new security updates/patches issued with the Microsoft Security
Bulletins on the second Tuesday of each month automatically included in
Microsoft Update?

The reason I ask is because I recently ran an online scan (Panda Activescan
2.0) prior to installing SP3 and was informed that 19 "vulnerabilities" were
detected.

These "vulnerabilities" were identified as un-installed Microsoft Security
Updates/Patches -- some of which date back 2 or 3 years. This concerns me,
since I religiously install ALL High-Priority and Critical Updates downloaded
to my desktop by Microsoft Update.

There are several "Optional Software" updates downloaded By Microsoft Update
that I haven't installed, but none of them match up to the "vulnerabilities"
identified by the online scan?

What am I missing here?

Yes, assuming Automatic Updates/Windows Update is working properly on your
machine. Dunno what Panda/Activescan might be referring to.
