We have recently moved from Windows update to Microsoft update.
We are using Windows XP SP3 with Office 2003 SP3.
1 out of the 24 computers shows windows update errors in the system log,
about an 0x80070643 error.
In the application log, it says that the update failure is because of the
missing of a pa561401.cab. I checked MSACACHE and the file IS missing.
The problem is that, in the other 23 computers that run the updates
successfully, none of them have that file anyway.
I have copied the said file from the source CD, and I would see if the error
will be gone tomorrow when the updates tried to install themselves again.
But I wonder why? Is this a known issue?

Well, thanks anyway.
Just for reporting purpose. After copying the PA561401.CAB from the source
to the MSOCACHE, the update problem is solved, from the look of it. I am not
sure if something else goes wrong under that scene, but we will have to wait
and see. May be we shall reclone that one computer later.
Since that computer is a public computer with everything locked down, just
like its 23 brothers and sisters, I doubt anything can go wrong, except may
be for the antivirus agent.
