80246005 = "Network connection was not available"

Disable any third-party firewalls or anti-virus, etc, and try again. Verify
your internet connection is fine, and not dropping.

Network connection was not available

1. Stop the Automatic Update Service

Click Start, select Run, type in: services.msc
then press enter
Right click the Automatic Updates Service and stop the service

2. Click Start, select Run, type in: %windir%\SoftwareDistribution
then press enter
Open the Datastore folder and delete its contents.

3. Click Start, select Run, type in: type services.msc
then press enter
Right click the Automatic Update Service and start the service

Try running the Updates again.

Always remember if in doubt, you can always copy the contents of the Datastore
folder to another area on your hard drive as a backup.
