Win vista business 32

1. Control Panel -> Add & Remove Programs reports
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable
but doesn't present
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable

Windows Update is suggesting installation of security patch for
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable KB973923

Where this recommendation from? The 2005 one not present
according to control panel.

2. Windows Update was also recommending a security patch for 2008
version of Visual C++ Redistributable, the KB 973924 one
Patch applied. Update Installation history doesn't shows this position
why?

It is likely that the redistributable is in fact installed as part of some piece
of software that uses it, even if it doesn't appear in the control panel under
its own name. I would recommend allowing the patch to install.

Harry.
