Hi
Everytime I visit microsoft-update I get the errormessage 0x80090305 and
cannot download any updates. I have search the discussion groups here and
found something:
Try re-registering these files :
Go to Start, Run, type in
regsvr32 schannel.dll
Click OK. You should receive a notification of the successfull or
unsuccessfull registration of the file.
Now do the same for these files, clicking OK after inputting each one :
rsabase.dll
rsaenh.dll

I have done that but then I get the message:
"schannel.dll was loaded, but the DLLRegisterServer Entry Point was not
found.
This file could not be registered."
There have been several advises to solve this problem, but none of them help
me. I do still get this message all the time.
I hope to get som help because the alternative is to reinstall the computer,
and that is very complicated with all the programs that are on this computer.
Is it anyone who can help me?

That would be correct for XP. There is no DllRegisterServer entry point
in that module for that OS.

BTW if you found an rsabase.dll to register I would conclude
that your OS was not XP in which case you may get better assistance
from a newsgroup which specializes in that OS, whatever it happens to be.

Thank you for your answer.
After I had tried everything I decided to reinstall. Actually I only had to
upgrade Windows. I have done that now and the PC works fine now.
