PROBLEM WITH WINDOWS VISTA UPDATES

I am having a problem with Windows Vista update. For about two months i
haven't been able to install certain updates.

When I click on the license, it searches the computer and then it doesn't
allow it.

Also, sometimes with explorer I get some kind of error at times.

I was trying to uninstall Explorer 8 and reinstall & try to install Vista Sp2.

What is causing this?

Which updates? What error? Are you currently running Vista SP1 and has SP2
been offered by Windows Update yet?
