Do you really make use of the Realtec HD Audio Control Panel?
In case you don't, disabling the start of that application via
Start -> Run -> msconfig -> System Start may be an acceptable
workaround.

is the side you mean, do you? It requires a WGA check now, while
it hasn't some minutes/hours ago. That may be the cause for the
side not beeing available temporarily.

Thank you, All, for a very helpful string of posts. This morning when I
encountered update-from-hell No. KB925902, I had no idea what to do to fix
the consequences. I know exactly what the Realtek HD Audio control Panel does
-- and I didn't want to lose it.
Anyone who listens to music while working at the computer must appreciate
having these controls, and I wasn't going to give it up without a fight.
Thanks especially to you, Freudi, for telling how to uninstall the update
and explaining why we really need it and how easy it is to find the hotfix
and install it first, then reinstall the update.

YW, but I never ever advised anyone to uninstall KB925902 prior the
installation of KB935448. There's no need to nor does it make sense.
What _may_ (have) make (made) sense, is (was) to disable the error
message presenting application _before_ KB935448 has been installed,
especially, if it has been the rthcpl.exe presenting an error message
soon after Windows restarts.

I really am not the most computer-knowlegeable person to be offering advice
-- but since this thread is so far down the line it may be a long time before
others open it, here goes.
To get rid of the ILLEGAL SYSTEM DLL RELOCATION message, I followed the
advice given on this board to install two things: Security Update KB925902
(see Windows Update for this) AND Hotfix KB935448. You need both.
Here's a link for the hotfix:
KB935448 is available via DownloadCenter for public download.
No more need to call MS Support to get this "hotfix":

This may fix your problem -- or not! But try it. You can always uninstall if
the installations don't work.
