Security Update for Windows XP (KB950974) broke WordPerfect 8 running on XP
Pro on one of five computers.

On one computer, WordPerfect froze immediately after opening, and it had to
be shut down using end task. I installed and removed the update twice.
Installing the update broke WP both times, removing the update fixed WP both
times. The computer has never had this problem before.

On four other computers running XP Pro and WordPerfect 8, update KB950974
did not cause this problem, so the problem is not just the update vs. WP8,
but I don't know the specific cause.

Is WordPerfect 8 even supported on Win XP? It's already 6 versions behind.

Uninstall the update then WP8. Reinstall WP8 and it's service packs and
fixes that came after the last service pack [if any].
