Windows Update won't hold setting

I have Windows Update yo notify me of updates and then I select to download
and install. However, on its own ut sets back to automattically download and
install the updates. What goingon and how can I correct it??

I was on my way back here to post what I believe fixed my problem when I saw
the above postings. I believe that Norton Anti-Virus is causing the problem.
I changed Norton setting to ignore the Windows Automatic Update settings.
