Today I installed the Patch Tuesday updates on my Windows XP netbook--and on
restarting I had no wireless network connection. I restarted again just to
make sure, and it was still gone. I did a System Restore to before the
installation, and the connection is back.

I've had this problem with Windows Updates before, always caused by .NET
Framework updates. But I haven't updated .NET Framework to the latest
version (I've hidden the updates), so there were no updates of that program
today.

Any idea of which update(s) might be causing the problem this time? Are
others having problems too?

Thank you!

I'm having a problem too, Jo-Anne, but it's different to yours.

Sorry I can't help.

For what it's worth, Brian, I opened a support session with Microsoft's
so-called Answer Desk. For my problem, the person suggested that I try
installing the updates one at a time and checking after each one to
determine which one is causing my lost wireless connection.

Update: The Microsoft Answer Desk person suggested that I try installing the
updates one at a time. Since there were 9, I did two at a time--and found
that when I installed KB2995962 and KB2690729, I lost my wireless connection
(all the others were fine). I did a System Restore and tried again, this
time installing one at a time. And this time my wireless connection was OK.
Now I need to do the updates on my laptop.
