Windows automatic update problem

When I try to update windows I rceive the following error - error no.
0x8DDD0018

Windows update always stop then it does not want to start again. Background
Intelligent Transfer Service has started as well as Event log. I am using
Windows XP Pro.

Chris, Have a look at this article. It may be relevant to your prºblem.

0x8DDD0018 -1914896360 ErrorAUDisabled AU could be disabled, not started
etc. BITS could be disabled or not started etc.
