I am running a Windows XP SP2 and using IE 6. When I try to run
windows
update I get the following error message: The website has encountered
a problem and cannot display the page you are trying to view. The
options provided below might help you solve the problem. Error Code:
0x80090305.

I have reinstalled it, checked for spy-ware and viruses, and cleaned
cache, history, cookies and temporary files nothing helped.

Thank you for help in advance,

Lora

The requested security package does not exist

I'm assuming that you can't get past the first part - try reinstalling the ActiveX
controls :-

Follow this article -
The Windows Update Web site and the Microsoft Update Web site do not scan for updates when
you repair a failed installation of Windows XP Service Pack 2 or of Windows XP Service
Pack 1
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/916259
or use the command: WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe /wuforce

Reboot and try again.
