They call this the re-distributable version, but it is NOT as it will
require an Internet connection for it to download the actual .net 3.0 install
files. On a dial up service this will take WAY to long. I have many customers
that can not get this update because they are on dial up. Therefor I need the
"Stand Alone Complete" Internet independent version of the .Net 3.0 install
so that I can install it in a "Reasonable" amount of time for them.
Thanks for your help, and someone please tell Bill to quit screwing over all
his dial up customers by producing COMPLETE EASY TO FIND FULL installs of ALL
updates, especially the large ones (anything over 5 meg) so that the dial ups
with friends who have high speed can get it for them and/or so that the techs
who have to support Windows, because we all know Microsoft won't, (except
through the 1-900-IAMGREEDY line), can get them and install them for the
customers.
Thanks again for the help,
Ralph Malph
There *is* a link on the above page > To download the full
redistributable package, rather than the bootstrapper,
> click the architecture you need below to start the download:
X86 Redist Package
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=70848
It's under Step 2 of Instructions
Download and burn it to a CD to redistribute it to those on dial up.
