Hello
I installed Service pack 2 on my Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit notebook
on 8-15. If I had read some of the posts here like "Windows Update mess"
dated 8-15, and "Vista Service pack is junk" also dated 8-15, I would not
have installed it.
I have no horror story to share, but do have a question. I'm a newbie, but
pay attention to maintenance like backup, disc cleaning, disk defrag.,
delete browsing history and reg. cleanup with Glary utilities. I also visit
HP Advisor regularly. That's where I learned that after installing SP 2,
my C storage went from 65% free to 78% free.
With 139 gigabytes storage, that's 18 gigs gone. I wonder what and where.
Today, I'm at 75% free. That's 4 new gigs, of what, I wonder. I have only
added a few picture files since, like 50 MB.
This is not a performance issue. My computer seems a little slower since
the update though. Maybe it's "getting used to" the change and will get
faster again. I will add that I did the update through Windows Update, with
Norton 360 running. Saw here it's a good idea to disable it during the
installation. Didn't know at the time.
Thanks in advance for any answers on this. K.C.

Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for
Windows Vista, but only for Service Pack 2 (SP2). This support for Windows
Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) is valid until November 26, 2009. Availability of
chat or e-mail support differs depending on your geographic location. Go to
http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?prid=13014&gprid=582034 &
