The situation continues to degrade.

Green screen of death/etc.
This is very frustrating. I tried to change one of the
port settings in the cmos to make it available (by
disabling it) for the modem. When I fire the computer
back up, it hangs after a Dr. Watson error, and only shows
the green screen (empty desktop with no menus, start
button, etc.).
So, I attempted a repair from my NT 4.0 disk. Now it is
really slow and tells me my display settings are invalid,
but it isn't responding to my attempts to change that.
So I reinstalled NT 4, and it does the same thing.
Now what do I do? Burn it? I've been at this four weeks,
and the MS stuff online has not been any help at all. I
have had great response from the MVP's, like you, David,
but I do need help here. Please have patience with me as
I don't know enough about this obviously.
Thanks in Advance,
Rick Walker
