The nearest you can get to this is to manually place a folder.jpg in each
album folder you want and not to use the "Find Album Info" command and to
turn off the automatic options in WMP 11 that cause it to automatically find
art and tag info.

Unfortunately a lot of people report that even if you supposedly tell WMP 11
not to automatically download art and tag info IT STILL DOES and will
replace yours.

iTunes (of course) behaves far better. It will NEVER automatically replace
existing artwork or tags. In fact you can't even force it to replace
EXISTING artwork so you are protected against accidents as well. To replace
existing artwork in iTunes you must first specifically DELETE the existing
artwork.

It is also possible to tell iTunes to ONLY download artwork and NOT to screw
up your tags.

If your music is in MP3 format (and possibly also this applies to WMA) then
you could add embedded artwork to the tracks using a different program.

You can embed the artwork in WMP using the Advanced Tag Editor. The problem
is finding the artwork in the first place if you don't scan your original
CDs.

iTunes 7 has the ability to download artwork and automatically embed that
artwork in the file. I don't use iTunes for getting artwork - I (actually my
wife does it) scan each CD cover - but another poster said the iTunes artwork
is 600x600 pixels. That's a great thing for using the AlbumArt visualization
as well.
