Why does My Player keep saying "an internal application error has occured"?

I just happen to upgrade my player 7.1 to 9 Series, but
soon I find myself to not liking the new player so I try
uninstalling it, but there was no unistaller, so I go to
my C drive, grab the all the items inside the "Windows
Media Player" folder and deleted it.

The next day I went back online and download the 7.1
Setup, it downloaded perfectly fine and been installed on
my computer, but as I try to open it it gives off this
message that said "An internal application error has
occured" and this happens every single time and it won't
play any media files that I want it to play. is there any
way to fix this problem? Thanks.

*cough*. Respectfully: don't ever delete files from the WMP folder again.
Your system will get hopelessly out of whack if you do. Not only is that
fileset synchronized across the system, Windows File Protection has its
grubby hands in the mix and will skew off things even further. More or
less, deleting system files is a recipe for disaster. :\
