Hi guys

I need your help, I thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

I recently reinstalled my PC, Windows XP Home.

Installed WMP11 and that's ok.

Today I fight a while with a faulty MP3 player of a friend of mine. The
system was recognizing it and then disappears...

Ok, tested on my PC just to be sure that the configuration of my friend was
ok.

Tonight I swicthed on WMP and I received an error message. However, if do
not close the error windows, I can use WMP normally!!

I tried Safe mode, closing all apps and services, reinstall WMP, nothing.

I'm stuck.

Can someone help me?

Here is the error message

AppName: wmplayer.exe AppVer: 11.0.5721.5145 ModName: kernel32.dll

ModVer: 5.1.2600.2945 Offset: 00009dea

Thanks for your time

Ciao
Antonio

Hi Zachd

Thank for your reply

I discovered tonight that the issue is caused by my MemoryStick memory
card... Never had a problem, now if I run WMP11 with no card connected (I
have a Notebook and an internal memory card reader), no problems at all even
with others USB devices.
When I connect the MS, I have the error. While there is the error window, I
can see the MS recognized as strange carachters, sometimes, and regularly,
sometimes.

If I play a movie from my MS, usually I do not have any issue. But sometimes
WMP crashes...

My Fault bucket is 341649750

Thanks a lot for your time!

Ciao
Antonio

According to the call stack, WMP (mspmsp.dll) is crashing when it attempts
to get the Manufacturer name from the device.

That's about all I know right now (I'm on vacation away from
interesting/good tools). It probably doesn't tell you anything, but again:
I'm away from anything interesting/useful right now. =)
