My pc came with windows 7 64 bit.

So when i downloaded the encoder, i downloaded the 64 bit version.

when I tried to install it, i received a message that the down loaded
encoder was NOT for a 32-bit system.

Should I be downloading the 32 bit version?

thanks

Perhaps your windows really is the 32 bit version ?

You may have a 64 bit CPU but it's quite possible it was installed
with a 32 bit version of windows.

Check the windows version by right-clicking Computer in windows
explorer, then choose Properties (or get there from Control Panel ->
System and Security -> System), you should see "64-bit operating
system" listed next to System Type. If it doesn't say 64-bit, it isn't
(though as I said, the CPU may well be)

Ben Waggoner @ Microsoft suggests, for various reasons, not bothering
with the 64 bit encoder anyway, so you've saved yourself a chore. Read

I recently upgraded from Vista Home Premium to 7 Home Premium. My computer
and OS are both 64bit but I am getting memory errors with Media Encoder 64. I
was successful using Media Encoder on Vista, but I think that might have been
the 32 bit version. So I guess my question is can I or should I replace the
64 bit WME with 32bit?

Best regards.
