If you can convert it in the next 180 days, you can use Expression
media encoder trial, which accepts MOV input and can output WMV (which
powerpoint can read)

Windows Media Encoder 9 codecs required
I am trying to convert a MOV file from a digital camera to an AVI. or other
format that will work with Powerpoint. Whe I use Windows Media Encoder 9, I
get the following error: One or more codecs required to open this content
could not be found. (0xC00D1B83). I am running a Sony Vaio with Media Center
2002. I do not have this problem at work. How can I get the needed codecs or
is there another cause for this result?

I was not able to get Windows Media Encoder to work. I was however able to
download Microsoft Expression Media Encoder Preview (30 days) and it worked
fine. I don't know what I will have to do after 30 days.

What happens if you try to play the file in windows media player
(which shares the same codec subsystem as WMEnc) ?
Can you convert it using windows moviemaker instead ?
If none of those work, and the file is MPEG-2 (DVD video) rather than
MPEG-1 (VCD) or MPEG-4 - all of which can share that file extension -
check your DVD decoders are correctly installed using DecCheck :
or on Vista, the Media Center Decoder utility
