I've been using 11 with my Iriver PMC 120 - I like the interface and the
ability to view my PMC within 11 - but one thing I've found is a
possible issue with custom album art. And perhaps it's going to be
addressed for the CRM.
I have podcasts that I listen to on my PMC, so I import them into 11 and
paste the custom album art for the podcast. it shows up in the player
interface, and when I transfer the podcasts to my PMC the album art also
shows up there. However, when I listen to the podcast I get the default
set of headphones picture instead of the album art that I specified.
Does anyone know why the album art isn't being displayed on my PMC when
I listen to the shows, yet when I connect to WMP11 the album art shows
up in my library as well as my Iriver.

Thoughts?

I recently purchased a Toshiba Gigabeat S60 Portable Media Center and I am
experiencing problems sycing album art, too. I noticed that my Gigabeat S60
displays the album art correctly for items that I used the "Find Album Info"
feature within WMP. For items that I manually added album art by drag and
drop with WMP11, that art doesn't show up. I had to rollback to WMP10 due to
an error with WMP11 and my Gigabeat, but it didn't resolve the problem with
album art. Since rolling back to WMP10, I have also added album art using
Album Art Fixer (http://www.avsoft.nl/artfixer) and that album art didn't
display on the Gigabeat, either.

I set Windows Explorer to show Hidden and System files in Windows Explorer
and opened three album folders, each with album art obtained in a separate
way:

1. Using Find Album Info.
2. Using WMP11 drag and drop.
3. Using Album Art Fixer.

Each folder contained five hidden files:

1. Desktop.ini
2. Folder.jpg
3. AlbumArtSmall.jpg
4. AlbumArt_{xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}_Small.jpg
5. AlbumArt_{xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx}_Large.jpg

Desktop.ini is used by Windows Explorer to determine what type of data is in
the folder (Documents, Pictures, Photo Album, Music, Music Artist, Music
Album, or Videos) and display the correct view. The other files are for your
album art.

The "x"s in the above filenames are all "0"s for the folders with album art
from WMP11 drag and drop and Album Art Fixer. For the folder with album art
obtained using Find Album Info, the "x"s are hexadecimal strings. In
example, the "large" album art file in my folder for Pearl Jam's Ten album
is named AlbumArt_{1F896385-9A0A-4ECB-A91C-755F861FD544}_Large.jpg.

I think the problem is that the PMC software on the Gigabeat is using these
AlbumArt files and not the Folder.jpg file whereas WMP will use any of the
files to display album art. I don't know how the hex code is associated with
the folder in order to try manually changing one to see if it will display
correctly on the Gigabeat. I tried sending a message to the writer of Album
Art Fixer to see if he may have some more information, but I have yet to
receive a response.
