Please try the following:
Typically, restarting Windows resolves the problem. To isolate the issue, you also may roll back WMP to version 9, then ensure Windows Media Player is not enabled on the taskbar, and then reinstall WMP10 Beta; after that, re-enable mini-player to check its functions work properly.
