I have been using IPSM V3.8.050603 for many years now on our Windows CE 5.0
based device, but now we have had some boards manufactured with Strataflash
fitted that are manufactured by Numonyx. StrataFLlash P30 65nm and although
I can format IPSM and use it, calls to RegFlushKey now cause the device to
lock above resulting in data aborts.

It never returns from the call to RegFlushKey, anyone else come across this?
I can use the same the same OS on boards fitted with StrataFlash 256P30T
date stamped 03 and the RegFLushKey call works, but the new boards fitted
with 256P30TF fail to return from the call to RegFlushKey.

Is there any source code availble for IPSM?

Regards

It's www.numonyx.com. I was able to get a hold of the PSM source via Intel
before they spun off Numonyx, but it was a struggle. Contact the people
from whom you buy the flash chips. They will have some pull with the
factory guys and may be able to help.

I think that almost *all* of the source is available, from Intel. Go to your
Intel partner or support or whatever it's called site, log in and search for
downloads. If you're licensed for PSM, you should find the PSM source
package. If not, ask for help to get it. It's kind of gone unsupported now.

If it were me, I'd fool around with the data you pass PSM about where the
flash data is, where the registry is, etc. In particular, with a P30T
device, I'd leave the small blocks at the top of the flash memory *out* of
the area used for registry or storage and try again. I've seen problems
around the edges of the flash memory space with PSM.

Thank you for the reply, I will investigate it further. We have version 4.0
of the IPSM and this does have some source code but seems to be completely
differnt from previous versions. I will try to obtain the source for
version 3.8.050603.

I do have access to the premier.intel.com website but the source is not
available on there, so will put in a request for it.

Hi
I have another issue with this, we can copy files to IPSM from RAM on the
unit, but if I connect the device to my PC via USB and use ActiveSync I can
browse the device but if I try to copy a file to IPSM the device now locks
up. I can however over ActiveSync create new folders and move around files
in IPSM.

Any help in solving this would be appreciated.

I have no idea. Turn on all the debug information for IPSM, etc. See what
happens when you perform this step. Maybe that will tell you something...
