Deploying X86 image without floppy drive.

Hi All;

I'm new to CE. I managed to build and deploy images using platform builder 5
and a samsung 2440 embedded board. I just got a VIA x86 board, I got the bsp
and managed to build an image. The problem I'm having is deploying the built
image. All the tutorials I found on the net regarding CE 5, tell me to use a
floppy drive to create a DOS boot disk. The issue is that I haven't had a
floppy frive for about 4 years :(. Can I somehow create a USB flash boot
disk? Or is there any other way of getting the board to boot the NK.BIN
file?

If your device can boot from a USB thumbdrive you can create a bootable
thumbdrive using HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool and the boot floppy
images provided inside platform builder.
Usually this kind of boot isn't that fast (the BIOS USB access layer
it's usually quite slow) but it's ok for debugging.
You can find a tutorial here:

and many other by goog...binging "bootable USB flash drive DOS" or
something like that.
When you have your bootable USB thumbdrive you can copy also mkdisk and
the biosloader and make your hard-disk or compact flash bootable.

doesnt have FDD i think cant boot from usb stick
