After Hibernate Vista wont recognize LAN

After waking my computer from Hibernate vista will not recognize that I
have an ethernet cable plugged into the side of my laptop. Ive tried
every setting I can imagine and am on the brink of giving up, no matter
what I do it just wont recognize that an ethernet cable is plugged in.

not sure what you mean. is it that it won't connect or something
else? I'd reset to defaults and look at

if this does not help, please post the text output of ipconfig /all
run from an elevated cmnd prompt as a reply.

Sorry for the poor explanation I was frustrated and tired last night
after trying to fix this for 2 days.

I had a bridged connection with my wireless internet in my home and the
LAN connected between my NP5790 and my xbox 360.

I went out and put the computer in Sleep mode and when I came back my
Ethernet Adapter will not, whatever I do recognize that I have a network
cable plugged in. Ive tried different cables and even trying plugging
the computer directly into my cable modem the Realtek adapter will just
not see that I have a ethernet cable plugged in.

Ive uninstalled and reinstalled the device, changed drivers and
everything. I just don't know what to do. In device manager it is turned
on.

undo the bridge (you can re-do it later). does the NIC show in
device manager? what is in event viewer?

no offense, but I asked for *text* output for ipconfig /all

start
programs
accessories
command prompt (right click and select run as administrator and
acknowledge the prompt)

ipconfig /all [enter]

click the icon on the menu bar on the left and then edit, select all
(it will turn white)

click the icon in the menu bar again then edit, copy

this copies to the clipboard.

Sorry about that yeah, that's the thing the bridge has been removed a
while ago so I just have a Local area connection and a wireless
connection the wireless connection works but the LAN wont recognize that
I have an ethernet cable plugged in.

if you disable and then enable the NIC, what happens?

if you turn the wireless off, does that change things?

was there a recent driver update for the Realtek card (go to device
mgr and rollback the driver to previous version and see if that
changes anything)

Done all of those numerous times. Im beginning to give in that this is a
hardware issue. Which still doesn't make any sense to me because the
computer was completely unplugged from the A/C adapter all I did was put
it to sleep and came back and hit the power button and this happened.
What could have possibly happened

I have a similar problem. My computer goes into sleep and when it wakes up
no internet connection. I go to device manager and the onboard ethernet
adapter has completely dissapeared!! I have a really ugly work around that
when I reboot I go into the bios setup. I don't change anything just go in
and exit, and start up windows and then my ethernet adapter is back again and
works fine. I have no idea what to do about it but I'm guessing its a Vista
thing.

Tried that before in the bios. Still got nothing, the adapter is there
in the boot sequence nad its in the device manager working properly

ALso can you specify what network card it is, the motherboard or computer
make/model and driver version (also if it is logo'd)? It could point to a
bad driver not responding to power events (or other).

I've changed the subject because your problem is not the same and
this thread is confusing enough.

Next time this happens, go into device manager and Scan for Hardware
changes. You may want to post this and the results of the Scan (does
it detect it or not) in the hardware and devices group.

I've disabled and re-enabled it numerous times. It is a Realtek
8168b/8111b Pci-e Gigabit Ethernet adapter I have tried a restore point
after it first happened on Thursday. I checked for updated drivers,
there were some and I upgraded it to them that did noting to fix the
problem. I even rolled back to the original drivers and then re-upgraded
to no new results.

the computer is a SAGER NP5790 or Clevo M570ru

The old/orig driver are vers 6.1837.926.2006
New drivers 6.196.803.2007

please describe what the edge device is and what is connected to
what in what order.

also, do you have a different Ethernet cable you can try?
