wireless network connect/disconnect

For some reason my VISTA laptop, stopped connecting to my wireless lan.
(Laptop was shut down inappropriately, which I'm thinking might have messed
up some registry keys??? I don't know??) SO, now the laptop shows the
wireless network(excellent strength) but disconnects instantly after
attempting to connect. Any ideas??? (If I plug in the cable, can get right
on the lan, but what's the use of a laptop if I can't be mobile in my own
house?)
Any help would be appreciated. (I do have a 2nd laptop that connects to the
same wireless network just great)

I deleted the connection. Set it up
again, and typed in my 'password' - everything is fine...I believe I typed
in the wrong password originally. All works great,but I'm keeping a bookmark
for your link - great information !
