I cannot send e-mails using my Windows e-mail. I think I have probably set
it up incorrectly. How can I reset it so that I can use it?
Thanks
Glenn

What happens when you try? Any error message?

Please post the error message in its entirety. You can left click on it to
highlight and then right click to copy and then paste it into this thread.

Your Header says "X-Newsreader: Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000"

Are you, actually, using the same machine (the one which won't let you
send email) to post here?

How do you say: "Web Interface"?

Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000

CDO for Windows 2000 is an integral part of the Windows 2000 series of
operating systems. It says so here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms527525(EXCHG.10).aspx

I felt it reasonable to suppose that the OP (glenn) was/is using Windows
2000, and wondered why he was posting an enquiry in a Vista group.

Should I have misunderstood something, please advise me - but not by
making inane comments.

I'm quite sure I say "Web Interface" much as you do ........ but without
an accent! <s>

I don't know about that, but I do know that all the folks posting via
the web interface at
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail
do show "Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000" in their headers.

When you got that error was your Internet connection being obtained
from Charter, or were you using a laptop away from home?

Why send users somewhere else? The Windows Mail experts are here.
No registration required.

You do a really great job, Gary ..... but there are too many folk with
problems for you to handle alone!

If you haven't explored Kerry Brown's site, perhaps you'll find it
helpful if you take a peek.

Is that the site that causes confusion? I know there is one forum site that
does.

One thing that an alternate interface site could do is to emphasize the
importance of creating threads for new questions. Something else that would
help is to emphasize the importance of the error message, including all of
the message accurately provided. Something else that would help the experts
a lot is a simple FAQ; there are some questions that are asked frequently,
some as often as daily.

Of course, Gary can speak for himself.

I'm not alone. There are several other, very capable responders here.
Kerry Brown's site does not specialize in Windows Mail issues, and the
multitude of issues covered there is bewildering to the average user who
just wants a question about Windows Mail answered.

Can you tell me more about this please?

I agree. When first I used the web interface I was often totally lost
and couldn't find my original posts!

I suspect that is the case for many other folk. Few, it seems, come back
to thank those who have tried to help. :-(

I cannot at the moment. Stay tuned to this station; the problems will
re-occur and if they don't then there is no problem.
