1. I can't receive any e-mails. When I am trying to receive an e-mail I get
this error message:
"An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'mail.thereddwarfzone.co.uk',
Server: 'mail.thereddwarfzone.co.uk', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL):
No, Error Number: 0x80004005"
My account details are correct and have not been changed since they were
working yesterday.
2. My 'Inbox' says there are 6 new messages, however when I click to view my
'Inbox' I am told:
"There are no items in this view."
3. There is one message in my 'Deleted Items' folder. If I click to view
this message it says:
"Message could not be displayed
Windows Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this
message. "Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again.
My laptop isn't low on memory or disk space. I am also unable to delete this
message. If I try to delete it, either by clicking on it and pressing Delete
or by emptying my 'Deleted Items' folder, I am presented with the following
error message:
"An unknown error has occurred."
4. My 'Junk E-mail' folder has 5 new messages, however on clicking the
folder I am again told "There are no items in this view." On trying to empty
my 'Junk E-mail' folder I am again presented with a "An unknown error has
occurred." message, and on clicking "OK" another message appears:
"Some of the items in the 'Junk E-mail' folder could not be deleted.
An error has occurred."
I am using Windows Mail version 6 on Windows Vista. Any help would be much
appreciated.

Another thing I forgot to mention - My laptop didn't shutdown properly. My
laptop turned off because the battery had died on it, and I didn't turn it on
again until the next day and thats when I started having problems with my
e-mail, so maybe it had something to do with not being shutdown properly??
Thanks,
Dan.
Hope this helps.

Remove Norton using their on line tool available at the Symantec site. Install Avast free which will do as well in performance and finding virus as did Norton.

Like Julian says, get a refund from Symantec. That's what I did
after buying my last copy of NAV in 2003.

"Messages may be stuck in the Outbox when you use Windows Mail on a
computer that is running Windows Vista"
That page offers two download options. Unless you know for sure
you have 64-bit Vista, use the 32-bit option.
Also, although only the outbox is mentioned, it works for all stuck
emails regardless of which folder they are in.

If I remove McAfee, will my email program work normally again? It's making
me mad cuz I spent $80.00 on McAfee for the year and never had any problems
with it before. I recently got a new PC with Vista installed and Windows
Mail as well. Before I had Outlook Express with Windows XP and I subscribed
to McAfee. I never had any problems like I'm having now.
Any other suggestions???
Thanks...
