I am trying to reinstall Vista Home on a formatted hard drive but keep
getting the error message:

"a required cd dvd drive device driver is missing"

How can I get past this? I flirted with the idea of putting the driver
files on a USB hard drive that I have because it recognizes the drive
when it's plugged in but the drivers on the Sony site (it's a Sony Vaio,
the dvd rom drive is an Aptiarc) are in .exe file. When I install them
on another PC I can't seem to find the actual driver files. Where can I
find them to copy to the USB drive to get this to load or how can I get
past this error message?

FYI I tried all of the available extraction types.

I tried using the program and extracted the files but it's still saying
the driver cannot be found.
