I am at a loss to find why any SATA drive i use with vista causes file to
dissappear or even corrupt the hardware raid config. Scandisk finds something
wrong and trys to fix it but the trouble continues. I am up to my 6th clean
install (partition destroyed and redone when reinstalling). I have tried
using the hardware raid controller in raid0 and raid1. Currently in native
mode. I have tried 5 different hard drives (2 old and 3 new). The hard drives
and ram have been tested by the shop i bought the equipment from and were ok.
I have tried vista ram check. Also tried Everest Ultimate 400 doing a burn in
and also seatools but no problems detected. Have tried the latest drivers and
bios from Intel (board Mnfg) and am currently running just the vista drivers
except sigmatel driver for sound (Vista driver doesnt work). Ubuntu Linux
seams to run fine NP.

Specs: Intel DG965WH, Core 2 duo 1.83GHz, 2X1G Geil PC8000 Cas5 RAM in Dual
channel mode, 2X Seagate ST3400620NS 400GB drives in 300Gb mode. Vista Home
Premium, Office Pro 2007 & no Antivirus (ATM).

everytime you test with a new HDD is with a RAId?
have you tried not using the RAID?
it might be a corrupted version of the windows vista DVD, try to get
another copy of Vista.
