I am trying to use my task manager and it says "task manager has been
disabled by the administrator." I am the only one on my computer and also
titled the administrator. How do i get access to task manager again?

This restriction is usually enabled by Viruses and other Malware. Check the system for virus / Malware.

Hi Ce Ce,

You would answer Yes to it to apply the command.

You can also see how to enable the Task Manager here to if that does
not work out for you.

Type "y" in order to proceed. If that does not work, check methods 2, 3 and 4 in that page.

ModifyOk, for those of you that have tried this regedit command, "REG add
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v
DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD", if it does not work, go here in the regedit....
HKEY_Current_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
(This is in Wondows Vista OS) Locate the Disable TaskMgr REG_WORD and change
the value to 0 (Zero) if it is set to 1. To change the value, RIGHT click on
the Disable TaskMgr then click Modify... I had a problem where I couldn't
select Task Manager, I didn't get any messages, it just wasn't highlighted,
or available from the Ctrl-Alt-Delete screen. I found the REG_WORD and
noticed it's value was changed to 1 so I changed it to 0 and guess what, I
have task manager back.

First get rid of the maleware. Sounds like same problem I had with a
rouge downloader called alpha antivirus. Then set up a new
administrator account and afterwards delete the old one. Task manager
should then come right up with cntrl+alt+delete.
