"igfxpers.exe - not responsing" on shut down

Have a win XP tablet wSP2. I get the above error when trying to shut down
the pc normally. If I don't click the button on the error box the pc never
shuts down.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks

That file is from your Intel Graphics (Video) Driver.
I'd try reinstalling that driver, or getting an update from Intel (for your
particular video card, which is almost certainly built onto your tablet pc's
motherboard).
