I already had a V110 and my wife used it a lot so I decided to get a V150 and
Dock so that she could have a bigger display and not have to worry about
plugging in the cords for power/keyboard/etc. However, it turns out that I
can't get the unit to work when its docked, it wants to act only as a
monitor. I don't care about the touchscreen being disabled (which it notes
in the manual), but is there a way to dock the unit for charging and to keep
the keyboard and mouse plugged in all the time without disabling the device?

Not really, but sort of :-)

If you put tape over the connector on the dock, you will maintain Smart
Display functionality while docked. This will also block power and USB from
getting to the panel, meaning you'll also need to plug power and the
keyboard/mouse directly into the panel (i.e. it turns the dock into a fancy
stand, not a dock).

Unfortunately I think you already know that creates other issues :) I'm
thinking about selectively blocking some of the pins, though, to see if that
would work. I noticed something weird today, which is when I docked the 150
(it was off) into the dock, it turned on and I could hear it connect to my
machine (its set to automatically log in), but the display was off... so I'm
thinking that maybe if I block just the display pins I'll have everything I
want.

Has anyone figured out which pins do what?

If anyone's interested, I've figured out which pins to block to get the dock
to supply power but not turn off the smart display functionality. I haven't
yet figured out if its possible to get the USB ports of the dock to work, but
I have a feeling that they are really just acting as a hub for the main
computer, so it may be a pipe dream.

I'm interested to know.

What pins did you block for that?

If you're looking at the pins with the display-side up, you want to mask off
all of the "bottom"-most pins except the far right pin. Like I said, USB
won't work, but the display can be used in the dock.

I am confused.....How do you tape off the pins and still have it make a good
connection
