Thanks, but that article is about SP1 - my problem is in installing KB976098
which is a daylight savings time update.

I was reading your comments with regards to choose existing database server instead of WID,
I have tried, but keep on saying "not installed as a service"
please advice me how to do it, i have installed SQL Express and wanted to use it for WSUS:
I have tried both names like \\servername\sqlexpress but not winning

Applied update (KB954960) for WSUS Server and rebooted system and now
everything working again.

Never mind. I found it in WSUS.
973346 has been superseeded by 973525.
We have declined 973525 as it breaks Visio Viewer 2003.
I'm guessing this has something to do with the fact we've declined 973525?

Hi folks, have an issue that have not been able to resolve.
I have a web application server running Windows Sharepoint Services
(WSS), WSUS and Symantec Endpoint Manager (SEP). WSS is on port 80, WSUS
is on port 8530, and SEP is on port 8014. The original installation was

WSUS3 can't be installed on windows 2000, so I would need to upgrade
this server to a new version of SBS which I am trying to avoid for
now.
Our vista machines sync with WSUS 2.0 without any problems, and there
is a Windows 7 category in the updates list so I was hoping that was a

Hi,
I've installed WSUS this week and today my clients PC are installing windows
ultimate bonuses as "important" update.
Why these component are labeled as "important" when they come from my WSUS
and as "optional" when I retreive it from windows Update website ?
is there a way to put them into the right label in the WSUS server ?

April 2009 (two years after WSUS 3.0 was released).
Q. After support ended for Software Update Services (SUS), no new updates

Colin, I have WSUS 2.0 for you. WSUS 3.0 is a slow, clunky piece of
crap. I don't blame you for wanting 2.0. It works so much better. The
file is about 160 MB and includes everything you need. How do you want
me to send it to you?
