I try to update the windows XP security updates via wsus.
But i am getting the error message that "Windows Update Client
successfully detected 0 updates".This is the log content.

Possibly this client does not have correct target group information?
Are you using client-side targeting or server-side targeting?
If server-side have you moved this client into its proper group?
If client-side have you properly configured the policy, and confirmed that
the policy has been applied to this client?
After verifying proper configurations, run
wuauclt /resetauthorization /detectnow
to force the expiration of the targeting cookie
and allow the WUA to refresh it's target group.

Well, that depends on where the rest of the 100% of the allocation is.
The best way to tell is to modify the column selections and enable the
Installed Count, Needed Count, Not Applicable Count, Failed Count, and No
Status Count columns so you can get a discrete count of which machines have
which status.
Most likely all of your systems need the update, but it's not approved, so
you approve it. Of course, it could also be that none of your systems have
actually successfully performed a detection, and they're at 100% "No
Status", or that they've all tried to install the update and the
installation failed and they're at 100% "Failed". Neither scenario is
likely, but it is possible, so you need to look at the discrete counts in
order to know the actual status.
