WSUS and Win2000 SP4 Update Rollup 1

Update Rollup for Win2k SP4 is installed. In some cases it reinstalls it and
all is well, but I am having problems with some clients that keep installing
it over and over every day. Installing it manually does not help.
I am also having a problem with the XML 4.0 update not installing, but that
seems to be fixed by installing manually. Annoying, but at least I can work
around it.
I've googled this subject but have not found an actual solution to this
problem that has worked for me. Any suggestions?

Please (re)install MDAC 2.8 SP1, MSXML 3.0 SP7 and MSXML 4.0 SP2 and
see if that helps on reoccurring install of KB891861 (Update Rollup 1
for Windows 2000 SP4)

Interesting. I did install the MSXML 3.0 SP7 parser along with the 4.0 SP2,
but didn't think to install MDAC. I'll give it a shot.

Update: that fixed it on the 2 machines I tried it so far on. I installed
MDAC, then the MSXML 3.0 parser at which point Windows Update no longer
prompted to install the update rollup (didn't even need to install XML 4.0
or the update rollup again).
