I have never done any WMI scripting beofre, but i do have a little bit of
programming knowledge. I would like to create a user variable that would
contain the the Active Directory Display name of the user currently logged
in. My idea was to pull this information based on the %username% variable
and then set %DispName% with this information. I would then use the
%DispName% variable when doing custom installs of Outlook so that each user
that logged in and installed the program would autmatically have their mail
box setup on the right mail server. The reason i can't use just %username%
is the following.
For the user Joe Schmo, his login would be JSchmo, but his mail box
name would be Joe S. Schmo

Any help will be appreciated!!!

Not sure about what you want exactly, from your post, but
I found these couple of sites useful when I was learning
(still am!) to use scripting and play with Users in the AD:

http://www.15seconds.com/issue/011127.htm

ok, i have finially figured out what i am trying to do.
Basically, when a user logs in, i want a script to look up the display name
of that account in active directory, and set a user variable with that
value.

Never Mind about the last message, the logon name gets translated on its own
