Hi,

I'm having a problem with configuring my backup with
Windows 2003 SBS.

When I run the wizard the following message appear:
"an unexpected error occurred (80070057)
The parameter is incorrect"

When I want use the "modify storage for deleted files and
emails" wizard, there is no possibility to change the
number of days for keeping e-mail and other files. The
summary at the end of the wizzard:
"The following settings were made regarding deleted items:
No disk space was reserved for deleted files.
Deleted e-mail messages will not be retained."

In the mailbox store the next settings are applied
regarding keeping files:
Keep deleted items for 14 days
Keep deleted mailboxes for 2 days
do not permanetly delete mailboxes and items until the
store has been backed up.

What have I done wrong???

Kind regards,

Maurice

Hello Maurice,

Is Exchange running on your system and working correctly? Also, can you post
the backup wizard log that is located in:
%sbsprogramdir%\support\BackupWizard.log.

Thanks,
Deon

Hello Maurice,

Thank you for posting the log. What exactly do you mean when by "...in the
process of setting up Exchange? Does this mean that Exchange is installed
but you have not created any users with mailboxes? If Exchange is installed,
are there any errors in the Application log ?

The error that is in the log is usually caused by Exchange either not being
installed or Exchange not functioning correctly.
