I have a SP1 error that I can't seem to find a fix for. I got to the step for
installing KB891193 and recieved the following error: windows installer
service could not be accessed. Then the next window comes up and says SBS2003
may not run properly. I need help fast to make sue it does run properly. Any
info would be great. Even if I have to call MS for help on this phone numbers
would work.

Thanks
Bennie

Are you still there or had enough for the day? Does anyone have the support

Hi Bennie,

Had to drive home. Check again on that page. It does have a link to MS PSS.
Do you have a member DC by any chance?

Marina,

Probably not on the member DC as I don't even know what that is. I thought I
seen somewhere that if it was a SP1 install related issue the call was free?
Any truth to that?

Do you feel I am at the point I need to hire your company to remote in and
try to fix this problem? If so I will reply back right now to the remote
access agreement. I do need this fixed before the people come in to work
tomorrow morning.

Thanks

Took this offline and got it working. For some reason the msi installer got
corrupted but unknown causes. After having checked every other possibility
and wanting to install a program to reset permissions, this didn't want to
install either. Than Google came to my rescue and on page whatever found a
solution to re-register the msiexec program. That did the trick finally.
