I'm in the process of reinstalling SharePoint per KB829114. However, while
under Componet Progess a window poped up Titled (Insert Windows Small
Business Server 2003 Disc C:\ClientApps) stating:
Insert Windows Small Business Server 2003 Disc C:ClieantApps or point to the
location where the Windows Small Business Server Setup files may be foud.
path:

I have pointed the path to C:\ClientApps and when I click ok nothing
happens. I have also pointed to Disc 3 d:\SBS\CLIENTAPPS and when I click ok
nothing happens.

Has anyone ran into this before?

Did you check and confirm the valid date of disk3 whether it is an original
or updated one as described in step 7 of "Install the Windows SharePoint
Services companyweb Web site for Windows Small Business Server 2003"?

I Sure did... and it checked out.

I also went as far as to : Integrate (slipstream) Windows SBS 2003 SP1 with
the original version of Windows SBS 2003
Create a Windows SBS 2003 folder in which Windows SBS 2003 SP1 has been
integrated. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Download Windows SBS 2003 SP1. To obtain this service pack, click the
following link:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/0/5/0/0503C927-F573-43A1-A184-97D755345F59/SBS2003-KB885918-SP1-X86-ENU.EXE

2. Extract the service pack files from the package that you downloaded in
step 1. To do this, follow these steps:
a. On the computer that is running Windows SBS 2003, create a folder that
is named SBS2003-SP1.
b. Open a Command Prompt window, and then change to the directory that
contains the Windows SBS 2003 SP1 package. This file is named
SBS2003-KB885918-SP1-X86-ENU.EXE.
c. Type the following command, and then press ENTER:

SBS2003-KB885918-SP1-X86-ENU.EXE /x

A dialog box appears. You are prompted to select a folder for the extracted
files.
d. Locate and then select the folder that you created in step a. Then,
click OK.

The files are extracted to the SBS2003-SP1 folder.

3. Copy the whole contents of the SBS\CLIENTAPPS\SHAREPT folder from disk 3
of the Disc of Windows SBS 2003 to the following location:
SBS2003-SP1\CD3\ClientApps\sharept

Note: In this path, SBS2003-SP1 represents the folder that you created in
step a.
If you are prompted to insert the Windows SBS 2003 SP1 disc when you next
reinstall Windows SBS 2003 components, specify the SBS2003-SP1 folder on the
Windows SBS 2003-based computer.

And still I experience the same behavior... A big nothing:(

HELP!!!

wjen you applied SBS 2003 SP1 did you also apply W2K3 SP1 first? Also did
you apply and upgrade all the other SBS Integrated apps such as SharePoint
SP2 and SQL 2004 SP4? When applying SBS 2003 SP1 there is a particular order
these SP'a must be applied. Check out this link for the SP you need to apply
as well as the order in which they need to be applied.

I dont recall exactly in what order SBS2003 was applied, but I think I do
know that yes, all other SBS Integrated Apps were updated as well with the
exception of SQL and ISA because they are not installed on the server.

Also, this server has Win2K3 Server SP2 installed.

Ouch!!!!! Are you new to this newsgroup? Take a look around or do a search
and you will see a lot of posts in here regarding issues and problems from
people who have installed W2K3 SP2 on their SBS 2003 server. Many of us
including myself are waiting until they release SBS 2003 SP2 which will of
course included an updated version of W2K3 SP2. I am not sure this is your
problem but I would not rule it out according to the posts I've read here
regarding applying W2K3 SP2.
That said IMHO i'm not too sure what your issues are now as to why you
cannot reinstall SharePoint usinf the KB829114 as I have done it a few times
over and never had any problems. Obviously it has something to do with where
the Sharepoint files are located.

Yea me too Ralph. Sorry about that. I would suggest you go and repost in a
Sharepoint newsgroup and perhaps you will get more feedback. Good luck.
