I was recently setting up 2 different new SBS 2003 servers for 2 different
clients, and I inadvertently used the wrong CAL pack on the wrong server. I
have used the "Transfer Licenses" wizard to activate the license pack on the
correct server (after a phone call to the licensing dept.), but I see no
mechanism for removing the CAL pack from the original server. I don't want
to leave this client with 20 "illegitimate" CALs, so how do I correct this?

Your advice is greatly apreciated!

Hello Todd,

Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.

Unfortunately, this behavior is by design. We're not able to remove CALs
from the SBS 2003 server.

In addition, I recommend you to call our sales office for further
assistance.

[Note] When you going to install the CALs on another server, you have to
call the Sales Office for activating the CALs.

For information about replacement manuals, disks, drivers and service
packs, product activation, product orders, policies related to copying
software on additional computers, licensing, and product registration,
please call Microsoft Customer Service (800) 426-9400, available Monday
through Friday, from 6:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. Pacific time.

If you have any update, please feel free to post back.

Best regards,

Brandy Nee
