Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup.
I understand that a client encountered the following error message:
Client setup could not remove a special account created to migrate user
settings from the previous user of this computer.
Based on my experience, this kind of problem always occurs when a new
Windows XP client joins an SBS 2003 domain by using
http://server/connectcomputer.
To solve the problem, you must follow the steps below:
1. Disjoin the problematic computer from SBS domain.
2. Remove the computer account from SBS server.
3. Create a computer account again.
4. Rejoin the problematic computer by using http://server/connectcomputer.
In addition, please also check the following user in Computer Management if
the problem persists.
1. Open Computer Management by right clicking My Computer and click Manage.
2. Go to Local Users and Groups and click Users.
3. Check whether the "__sbs_netsetup__" user exists. If yes, delete the
user and test again.
4. Please also delete C:\Documents and Settings\__sbs_netsetup_ folder.
I hope the above info helps.
If there's any update, please feel free to post back.
Best regards,
Crina Li (MSFT)

| I recently joined a computer to the Windows SBS 2003, and after doing it,
| everytime the computer is started a message comes up that says: "Client
setup
| could not remove a special account created to migrate user settings from
the
| previous user of this computer". How can I get rid of this message??
The
| computer seems to be working with no problems, but this message is a
little
| annoying. Thanks
