OWA thru sonicwall firewall.

I have a SBS2003 machine that is behind a Sonicwall
firewall. The ports 80, 443 & 444 are opened & forwarded
to the server. If I try to go to mail.domain.com/exchnage
then all that comes up is the sonicwall login page. I
know that's not much to go on, but any thoutghts??

Hi Joe.
I run several sonic firewalls. What version OS are you running? Check you
Access Rules under VPN to ensure that http and https is enabled and
forwarded then look at what port you are using for Administration. Sonic
usually enables port 80 and 443 for the default administration ports. Try
moving those to a different port like 82 and 446. \

Mar, Thanks. It is an older Sonicwall (SOHO3 - 25 user)
without the VPN feature. Http & Https are enabled. Will
I need to delete those 2 services (HTTPS Management & HTTP
Management) & recreate them with differenet ports? I try
to modify them and it just flashes & says "no changes have
been made" Frustrating!! If I can get the management
off of those ports, I beleive the way i have the rules
set, then OWA should forward in. Thanks again for any
input.

I think you can simply disable those two services and you should be OK. The
best thing to do would be to set them up on a different port since you will
need them again later.

firewall? I suppose I can set up a new service on a
different port and just specify that port in my browser.

What you will have to do is alter those services and have them use a
different port. ie. Change the http Management from port 80 to 8080 and
https from port 443 to 4443 (use ports which you know will not be required,
and which you are comfortable using). Then existing configuration settings
you've made for port 80 and 443 should then work.

If the Sonicwall doesn't allow the http & https management ports to be
changed you should be able to disable the management services and add
another two additional rules which forward port 8080 and 4443 to port 80 and
443 of the local IP of the sonic wall i.e. the equivalent of loopback, but
without using 127.0.0.1.

You can change the ports for both HTTP and HTTPS management on the old
SonicWALL v.6 firewalls on the Access - management screen. This same
configuration option is found on the System - Administration screen in
the new SonicOS versions.
