SBS 2003 Component Instal Fails

Hi All

I am currently doing an upgrade from Windows 2000 server to SBS Server 2003.

The first phase of the upgarde was successful. The OS is now server 2003.

After this pahse the setup continues and then the component instal portion appears asking you where to instal server tools, client deployement and exchange server, as well as (On next screen) folders for msde, users shared folders, andclient deployment folder. After this screen we continue on and then get an error :

"There was an error instaling components" with the options of cancel and finish

We have tried altering all the folder locations and drives for the instal as well as leaving them as the default.

The server is currently operational running win 2003 server and exchange 2000 as this has not been able to be upgraded.

We would like to complete the upgarde, does anyone have any ideas on what is causing this error or workarounds for installing the components ?

I have appended portions of the 2 log files form microsoft intergration folder

Sounds like it could be really messed up...or it could be a few key
failures.

First, check your version of oledb32.dll. Is it 2.71.x or 2.80.1022.0? If
it's the 2.8 then you're good to go. If not, that's a very possible issue.
Expand this file and oledb32r.dll from CD1 in the i386 folder and
overwrite the versions on your sbs setup.

Second, check to see if the Administrators temp/tmp evironment variable is
set to an alternate location. It should be %userprofile%\Local
settings\Temp. Change it if it's not the correct location.
