exchange Server 2003 with ISA 2000 as the firewall.
Kevin...
You haven't told us what happens when you try. Make sure the iphone is
updated with the latest version (2.x) and then pick Microsoft Exchange from
the new mail accounts list. Enter the servername (publicname.domain.com) and
DOMAIN\username. The rest is really pretty straightforward.
I am using the same account information when I am inside the domain except
outside the domain I am using mail.xxxxxx.com
And port 443 is open inbound? You ran the CEICW and enabled Outlook Mobile
Access? Sure the server name is correct & the login name syntax is
DOMAIN\username ?
Thank you for your post and thanks for Lanwench's great sharing.
At the same time, I would also like to know that
1. Have you tried access OWA via Safari? Does that work? [Is the Exchange
2003 server applied SP2 already?]
2. Besides the Exchange server, can you sync this iPhone device with your
desktop computer e.g. Outlook for mails and contacts etc.?
The process of syncing iPhone is similar with normal syncing Windows Mobile
device and as I know, the configuration on server side is no difference
from Windows Mobile based device. So if other mobile device works fine to
sync, we can eliminate the issue in server side, and the issue may related
to iPhone settings.
To add some additional information, I'd like suggest you check the
following articles, they contains the introductions and configuration of
iPhone for Microsoft Exchange Server.

I am wondering about the ISA2000 stripping some of the information?

Thanks for your reply.
Since the iPhone device works fine inside the domain, when using it
outside, besides the ActiveSync, can it send/receive emails correctly? Can
it connect OWA, OMA etc?
If all other functions work fine except ActiveSync, I suggest you follow
the below links to check ISA server and other firewall if any.

At the same time, check if there is any ActiveSync related errors in Event
logs on SBS server.
Hope this helps.
