"Experienced DHCP conflicts with comcast modem when Comcast updated firmware.
reset Comcast modem and can access Internet from Server and workstations when
connected directly tp Comcast modem. Switcehd off comcast DHCP setting. Can
still access interent from server. Have SBS 2003 installed on DELL PowerEdge
830. Did maintenance mode on SBS and reinstalled all elements. Tried to set
up Internet connection and got error message saying that "The wizard cannot
set the DHCP scope options. Ensure that the DHCP server is running and that
a scope is defined....etc!"
Looked at DHCP settings for server 1, shows
"server1.advancedhvacinc.local[10.1.10.122] STATUS is **ACTIVE**, address
pool is configured correctly, address leases shows some leases to
server1.advancedhvacinc.local, but no clients care allocated a lease,
SCOPE OPTIONS shows 5 settings, 003 Router - Standard - 192.168.16.2 Class =

Hi Colin,

Thanks for using the SBS newsgroup.

From your description, I understand that when you running the CEICW, the
following error appears:

The wizard cannot set the DHCP scope options. Ensure that the DHCP server

service is running and that a scope is defined. Alternatively, disable the
DHCP service manually, and then configure your client computer IP address
properties. For more information about manually configuring client
computers, see Help and Support.

This issue has been addressed in KB 875422. Please check the scenario and
resolution description in this KB.

"The wizard cannot set the DHCP scope options" error message when you run
the Configure E-mail and Internet Connection Wizard in Windows Small
Business Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/875422

If the problem persists, I recommend you to temporary remove DHCP service,
run CEICW, install DHCP service, run CEICW again.

Hope above information helps! I am happy to be of assistance to you and
look forward to your reply.

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,

Jenny Wu
